A Look at Girl Bosses


Tomorrow is International Woman's Day and since this March I wanted to start sharing more of my thoughts conserning things that are happening nowadays I wanted to write this post.
A list of sixteen inspirational and motivational woman both from our histories past and our current present.
I hope this list sparks motivation to go after your hopes and fight for your beliefs just like these inspirations have done and will continue to do.

Coretta Skott King was an author, activist, civil rights leader, and the wife of Martin Luther King Jr.
She helped lead the African-American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, Became active in the Woman's Movement, Was an active supporter for LGBT+ equality, and in her early life Coretta was an accomplished singer, and she often incorporated music in her civil rights work.




Elaine is the current editor of Teen Vogue. With the partnership of Phillip Picardi (Digital editorial director), and Marie Suter (creative director) She has led Teen Vogue to expand their focus to include more political views and information of both what is happening in the world today and what young girls and teens can do to use their voice for good.
Elaine was appointed from Beauty and Health director to editor of the magazine in May of 2016 and she continues to spread positivity through her work.




Not only did she play Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series movies Emma Watson is an actress, model, and activist
In July 2014, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and later that year went on to deliver an address at UN Headquarters in New York City to launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe which calls for men to advocate for gender equality.




Malala is an Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest ever Nobel Prize laureate
On October 9th of 2012 she was injured after a Taliban gunman attempted to assassinate her.
Since recovering Malala has went on to found the Malala Found, a non profit, co-authored "I am Malala" an International Bestseller, and was featured in three "Time" magazines in the list of "The Most Influential People"



Best known for her talk show "The Oprah Winfrey Show" Oprah is a media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist.
In 2013 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.




Coco Chanel was a French fashion designer and business woman. She was the founder and namesake of the brand Chanel. She was credited in the post World War I era with liberating women from the constraints of the corseted silhouette, and popularizing a sporty chic standard feminine style.



Was a British activist and leader of the suffragette movement which helped woman win the right to vote.




Rowan got her start on Disney Channels "Girl Meets World" starring as Riley Mathews.
The young actress went on to share her beliefs and views across social medias and continues to advocate her voice and fight for equality and woman's rights.




Frida was a Mexican painter and artist known for her self portraits.
After a near fatal accident from a bus collide she recovered and abandond her earlier study of medicine and began to paint. She is widely known for her many self portraits. Frida once noted "I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best."



Mary was an English writer, philosopher, and advocate of Woman's Rights. She is best known for her "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman" In which she argues that woman are not naturally inferior to men.




A aviation pioneer and author, Amelia Earhart was the first female aviation to fly solo across the Antlantic Ocean.



Michelle Obama is a lawer and writer. Who was the First Lady or the United States from 2009-2017 and was the first African-American First Lady. As first Lady she became a fashion icon, role for woman, and advocate for poverty awareness, nutrition,physical activity, and healthy eating.




Rosa was an American Civil Rights activist, whom the United States called "the first lady of civil rights". On December 1st of 1955 she refused to obey a bus driver's order for her to give up her seat in the colored section for a white passenger because the white section was full.
Her birthday and the day she was arrested have both become known as "Rosa Parks Day"




Is an American writer, magazine editor and actress. She came to public attention at the age of twelve for her fashion blog "Style Rookie" Now Tavi is the founder and editor of chief of the online "Rookie Magazine"





Yara is an actress and model best know for her role as Zoey on the sitcom "Blackish"
She also uses her voice through social media to spread positivity and continues to go on and do great things.
